Alhamdulillah, Palestinians can return to Worship at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Themoderatemuslims.blogspot.co.id - Palestinians have been able to return to worship at Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jerusalem, on Thursday for the first time after nearly two weeks of conflict with Israel that restricted access.

Israel has removed all metal detectors installed at all entrances to the Al-Aqsa mosque area following the shooting of two Israeli police by three Arabian men.

"The Islamic religious authorities in Jerusalem are calling on Palestinians to enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque for prayers after noon," said Waqf official, the Islamic authority who runs the mosque, the AFP news agency reported.

Israeli security forces closed parts of the Old City, Jerusalem, on Saturday (07/15/2017), where a holy site of Haram al-Sharif is located.

The closure and extra-tight security came into effect after the shootings that killed two policemen by three Arabs near the Al-Aqsa compound on Friday (14/7/2017) yesterday.

As has been reported, the three perpetrators of the attack were eventually shot dead in the yard of the mosque.

Furthermore, Israeli authorities took a very unusual decision, namely closing the Al-Aqsa mosque complex for Friday prayers.

Following international pressure, especially from Islamic countries, Israel reopened the Temple Hill and Haram al-Sharif area, which includes Al-Aqsa Mosque, in Jerusalem, Sunday (16/7/2017).

Two of the nine gates leading to the area are open to the public. According to Israeli authorities, the opening of gates or entrances to the Bukit Temple area is done gradually, as reported by Reuters.

The area was closed after a shooting incident two tetara in Israel. However, after mass demonstrations and protests by Islamic religious authorities, it was finally reopened.
