HTI Officially Disbanded and Become Forbidden Affair in Indonesia
The Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) mass organization has been officially disbanded by the government. The legal entity that oversees the organization has been revoked by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.
Head of Public Relations Division Inspector General Setyo Wasisto said, with this decision HTI banned from organizational activities.
"Disbanded, the organization should not move in the organization ties," said Setyo at Kompleks Mabes Polri, Jakarta, Wednesday (07/19/2017).
Setyo added that his side would not allow HTI to hold an event, including a rally. In fact, the notification receipt (STTP) will also not be issued.
"If he proposed the organization for the organization's activities, such as going to a rally, going to meetings, wanting this, the police would not receive his notice," Setyo said.
Setyo asserted, if HTI still insist on doing activities and activities of the organization in the form of any activity then the police will dissolve.
"It will surely be dissolved," said Setyo.
Previously, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) has revoked the license of legal entity Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI). One reason is to treat Pancasila.
Director General of General Law Administration (AHU) Freddy Harris stated that the decree on the revocation of HTI legal entities is based on data, facts and coordination from all agencies discussed in coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polhukam).
