President Jokowi: Why First (President of SBY) Presidential Threshold Not Crowded?

President Joko Widodo or Jokowi marveled at the chaotic stipulation of the Election Law which has not yet subsided. The number of presidential threshold nominations still gets opposition from various parties.

Jokowi rate, the use of presidential threshold is not first used in pilpres, but since the elections in 2009 and 2014.

"Yes it is questioning the 20 percent presidential threshold, why not always crowded?" Said Jokowi in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, Friday (28/07/2017).

The former governor of DKI Jakarta said the simplification of the party is very important for the political vision going forward. If the presidential threshold is 0 percent, then one party wins, the winning president will have difficulty communicating with the DPR later.

"We used to be 38 per cent of them," said Jokowi. "This is a political process that people must understand, do not be pulled as if the 20 percent presidential threshold is wrong."

This election law is a product of democracy resulting from discussion in the DPR. The government only proposes views and options as the basic material for discussion in the DPR. All mechanisms in the DPR have also been passed until finally decided.

"Well, that's what the people should see, so yes it is assessed, if there are some people who disagree, then we can go back to the Constitutional Court This is the democracy and the state of law that we have," said Jokowi.
