Meet Jokowi, World Bank: Indonesia's Economy Makes the World jealous

Themoderatemuslims.blogspot.co.id - World Bank President Jim Yong Kim praised Indonesia's economic growth last year in a meeting with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). This achievement is called making envy of other countries in the world.

"Indonesia has a growth rate of more than 5 percent which will make the envy of the majority of countries in the world," Kim said after meeting with Jokowi at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Economic growth in 2016 was 5.02 percent.

In a meeting with Kim, Jokowi said he wanted a larger growth rate. Jokowi said he plans to make Indonesia a high-income country in the not so distant future.

Jokowi has set a larger target for economic growth than it achieved in 2016. For 2018, Jokowi requested the preparation of fiscal capacity and the indicative budget ceiling of the 2018 Budget Plan in optimism, although it has to be realistic and credible.

"In line with the improvement of the world economy, we also have to dare to increase the target of economic growth in 2018, to be approximately 5.4-6.1 percent," said Jokowi during the plenary session plenary session on Fiscal Capacity and Ceiling Indicative RAPBN Year 2018 Last March.

Kim said the World Bank meeting with Jokowi is to talk about improvements in development, such as infrastructure and capacity building efforts of human resources. This is expected to contribute to economic development.

Kim's visit and the seven-member delegation are due to the preparation of the World Bank-IMF meeting in Bali by 2018. Indonesia will host the annual IMF-World Bank meeting held in Nusa Dua, Bali, from 8-14 October 2018.

Kim said she is grateful for Indonesia's willingness to host this meeting. "We want to make an example that Indonesia is one of the places in the world for investors to invest," Kim said. One of the agreements in the meeting with Jokowi is Kim will return to Indonesia in February next year. This is done to prepare for investor meetings.

"We will invite investors, institutions from various parts of the world, to come to Indonesia to see opportunities and reform process in Indonesia," said World Bank President Jim Yong Kim.
