Muslims and Christians United in the Al-Aqsa Mosque

Themoderatemuslims.blogspot.co.id - The closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque conducted by Israel not only invites the wrath of Muslims but also Christians. Dozens of Muslims and Christians came together to demonstrate over the closure of the mosque.

They gathered yesterday in front of Bethlehem Church, south of the West Bank, to protest against Israel's arbitrary treatment of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and the Palestinians.

The demonstrators raised banners to ask Israel to remove all security attributes installed at the entrance of Al-Aqsa Mosque such as metal detectors to surveillance cameras.

"Today we stand in front of the Church of the Nativity, the birthplace of Jesus Christ to show that there is no difference between the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. There is no difference between the gates of Al-Aqsa and the gates of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Birth of God," Spokesman for the Arab Orthodox Caucasus, Jalal Barham, as quoted by Middle East Monitor, Monday (24/7).

Barham also said the demonstration was conducted as a pointer that Muslims and Christians are a unity. Therefore, if one of them encounters difficulties, then the other people will make efforts to free them from adversity.

"We affirm that we are one: our history is one We do not accept (treat) this We will continue to fight for the freedom and dignity of both Islamic and Christian holiness," he said.
